Philippines Missions Trip 2026 (Day 2): A Full Day of Ministry in Baguio and La Union

Today was a long day, but a very good day—a day filled with open doors, gospel opportunities, fellowship, and worship.

An Open Door at City Hall

We began the morning at Baguio City Hall, where our team had the privilege of visiting the mayor. Bibles were presented to the entire staff, and we were able to spend a few minutes speaking with the mayor personally. He was kind and gracious, and he even offered to make arrangements for us to meet with another mayor later in the trip if the schedule allows. We are thankful for this open door and for every opportunity to place the Word of God into the hands of local leaders and their staff.

Pastors Gather from Across the Region

From City Hall, we returned to the church for breakfast, a chance to catch our breath, and time to greet pastors arriving from across the region. Some had traveled through difficult weather simply to be there. While the pastors enjoyed fellowship together, members of the Faith team practiced choir specials for the evening service.

After breakfast, everyone assembled for prayer before dividing into ministry teams and heading in different directions.

Gospel Outreach Across the Area

Several teams went to the mall, several went to the marketplace, and one team traveled to La Union. Each group returned with encouraging stories of conversations, gospel opportunities, and many people trusting Christ as Savior.

The La Union team distributed tracts, saw people saved, and visited the church building located among the grape vineyards. They also saw the site of the congregation’s former building—ground that has since been overtaken by the ocean. It was a vivid reminder of both the challenges these churches have faced and their faithfulness in continuing the work.

The teams returned to the church for lunch as Frenchon McNeil’s team made its way back from La Union. Everyone then returned to the hotel for about an hour of rest before heading back to the church to prepare for the evening service.

A Full and Joyful Evening Service

The evening service was full, lively, and deeply encouraging. The orchestra from Pastor Ross’s church did an outstanding job. Members of the Faith team joined the Baguio choir for several specials, and the Faith team sang “In Christ Alone” accompanied by the orchestra—an especially powerful moment in the service.

Pastor Kirchner preached the first message of the evening, “Come Over and Help Us,” from the Macedonian call. Pastor Smith closed the night with a message for pastors on guarding the heart, sharing seven key steps every pastor should remember.

After the service, everyone enjoyed fellowship and food before returning to the hotel for some much-needed rest.

• Pray for renewed strength, good health, and rest for the entire team.

• Pray for safety and favorable weather as the team travels from Baguio toward Manila.

• Pray that tomorrow’s church visits will encourage pastors and congregations along the way.

What Comes Next

Tomorrow will be a travel day as we begin moving from Baguio toward Manila, visiting churches along the way. Please pray that the weather will cooperate, that travel will be safe, and that every stop will provide another opportunity to encourage God’s people and share the gospel.
