Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
What a month March was. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven,” and how true this is. Sometimes it’s slow, such as it was January and February, but sometimes it’s busy and full of excitement, such as it was in March. The first thing I want to mention about March was that out of nowhere we began seeing record attendance. For us, we had been
averaging about 20 people on Sundays. Well, in March we had about 30 people on four separate Sunday services. One of the reasons for this was because two families began coming back that we hadn’t seen for a while. They seem to be more serious this time around as well, so hopefully they continue to come faithfully.
Another notable detail in March was that I began looking around for somewhere else to meet in for church services. I found two locations that would probably work for us, but the first one was snatched up before I could get it, and the other one didn’t seem to want a church in it. So sadly, I have no legitimate options as of now. Another option would be to split our services into two: one in the morning, and another in the afternoon. However, there’s already another church that uses the hotel’s meeting room in the morning. It has been so hard to find somewhere to meet in, and it doesn’t seem like there are many options, but if we
continue having 30ish people on Sundays, we certainly need to do something. Also, if things continue like this, our Easter service is going to be crazy packed! Next, a family that has been coming for a while has now begun doing membership classes with us. They are from Berma, but have been living in the U.S. for most of their lives. I call them the Sengs. They are a blessing, and everyone seems to love them
(probably because they keep bringing food to church for everyone!) The whole family wants to become members eventually, but right now the son and daughter are taking the classes. Lastly, we had a new family come to church the last Sunday in March, and they could potentially be what we’ve been praying for.
We’ve been praying for a family that is mature in the faith, young, ready to serve, and has children, to join our church. This family seems to fit all those boxes. They moved to Utah recently and are looking for a church to serve in and be a part of. We are having them over for dinner this week so that we can get to know them some more and potentially have some important discussions. As you can now tell, March was quite interesting! There are a lot of prayer needs we have, and we’re thankful to know you will be taking these things to God on our behalf. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your help. You play a massive role in the
ministry here by interceding for us. Thanks again, and God bless! In Christ,
Jory Petitti
